how do you define success

How Do You Define Success? | Important Interview Questions

How do you define success? What does it mean to you? A question that tests your personality, giving textbook responses won’t do any good.

TRAP: Seems easy to answer. However, simply parroting the definition of success isn’t sufficient. The interviewer won’t be too pleased with a generic answer. It shows that you are not creative enough to use the question as a starter to talk about your achievements.

ACCEPTABLE ANSWER: Give a well-accepted definition of success that leads right into your stellar collection of achievements.

Example: “The best definition I’ve come across is that success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal. As to how I would measure up to that definition, I would consider myself both successful and fortunate…”

Then summarize your career goals and how your achievements have represented a progressive path toward the realization of your goals.
